I've been waiting to get one of these bottles for years. And amazon has made it easy to find. I have the 18oz with the steel loop cap and I carry it with me everywhere. Sometimes I wish it was larger for when I go to play some sports and need more water on hand, but for daily use when you're able to fill up its great.
My family has used Klean Kanteens for years - taken them to work, school, and hiking. Condensation will appear on the outside, but that's to be expected. They don't leak and can stand up to being dropped. The mouth is large enough to fill the bottle with ice, and the water stays cool through hours of hiking (even in very hot climates). Hard to improve on this. They are the best.
Very satisfied with all, and will get some for friends. The bottle is lined inside (could have used a better color than brown).
(I never thought of beer bottles as I don't indulge). Because of a recent warning regarding the safety hazard inherent with plastic bottles, I decided upon stainless steel.since most all bottles used to drink from are plastic: soda, milk, other liquids.
But that is minor. I purchased three different sizes, makes, etc., one with a nice fabric cover that hangs on my wheelchair.I was pleased with all three as to quality, shipping time.and more.
My only issue is the "Swiss" insignia on one - and it shows in the ad - is rather screwed up as if on the original had been partially scratched. But has the best of screw caps in my opinion.
You shouls all appreciate these.
The threads for the lid are big and it would be imposible to strip, even with the plastic lid. I have several metal water bottles and this one is by far the best. There is no metal taste whatsoever. And the opening is big enough to put ice cubes in. I use mine everyday.
For a product designed to attract the environmentally aware, I was dismayed with the Made in China label. The Klean Kanteen is also a hefty $14.00 more than the Made in USA steel water bottles found at Walmart. I do like the shape of the Klean Kanteen, about an inch shorter than most 18 ounce bottles, making it less prone to tipping. At first the water had a strange taste, but that subsided after a couple of uses.
